Luminous efficacy

Luminous efficacy is a measure of how efficiently a light source produces visible light

Although efficiency values are typically dimensionless and therefore have no unit, specific luminous flux is expressed in the SI unit of lumens per watt (lm/W).

Explanation

If Φ is the luminous flux and P is the power, then the luminous efficacy is η = Φ/P.
